In 2016 HRA revised and updated The Arizona Parent Guide, which is part of a kit that goes to new parents throughout Arizona. The guide focuses on children from birth to five. It covers topics such as pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and childcare.
HRA developed and tested clear language materials on prescription drugs for Consumer Reports Health Best Buy Drugs™, a free public service website. A variety of fact sheets and brochures, in English and Spanish, are now available to the public.
HRA conducted two evaluations of one of the first phases of Medicaid expansion in California: the transition of seniors and people with disabilities to Medi-Cal managed care.
HRA is conducting a multiyear study of California's pilot project to coordinate the care of adults who are eligible for both Medicare and Medi-Cal, a health plan called Cal MediConnect. It aims to coordinate medical, behavioral health, long-term institutional, and home- and community-based services for dually eligible beneficiaries.
Between June 2011 and May 2012, more than 300,000 seniors and people with disabilities with Medi-Cal were moved from fee-for-service Medi-Cal into Medi-Cal Managed Care. Dr. Carrie Graham of HRA led a mixed-methods evaluation of this mandatory transition. The evaluation used focus groups and a telephone survey of beneficiaries to learn about beneficiaries’ experiences.
